Get Out The Vote

As we approach the Rhinebeck Village Democratic Primary for two Village Trustee positions on January 30th, voting is the most fundamental action we can all take to create a stronger and more representative democracy. To ensure as many of our neighbors participate as possible, we encourage you to help Get Out The Vote (GOTV).

Here’s are things you can do to help when talking with your neighbors:

  1. Is your neighbor not sure if they are registered? They can check at https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov/

  2. Make a Plan to Vote on 1/30. Review times and location with your neighbors. The Village Hall is connected to the Rhinebeck Fire Station on the corner of East Market Street and Center Street, not to be confused with the Town Hall on the opposite corner.

  3. Does a neighbor need a ride to the polling location? Do they need a babysitter? Can you help with these needs or help find someone who can?

  4. Do you have a bulletin board at your place of work or a visible spot you frequent often? Can you post an election date and time reminder card on the bulletin board?

  5. Can you post election dates and times on your social media sites for your friends to see or on the NextDoor App to reach Rhinebeck neighbors?

Here are the facts you can share with neighbors and friends:

Registered Democrats can vote any time between 12:00 noon to 9:00 pm at Village Hall upstairs at 76 E. Market Street on January 30, 2024. The primary is only for registered Democrats. There are three Village of Rhinebeck residents running for two seats.

Voter turnout is traditionally lower for local elections, particularly when local seats are the only thing on the ballot. Your friends and neighbors may need a reminder to vote, so we invite you to help GOTV!

One of the best ways to improve how we engage in politics is to be a good example for your neighbors. Elections shape our communities for years to come. Participation is key.
